The leader of Indigenous  People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu said during his broadcast that ethnic groups will be given the chance via the referendum box to express their freedom to decide if they would join Biafra or stay with Nigeria.

Nobody, clan or ethnic group will be forced to join the union of Biafra which when independent will run a democracy with a constituon that allows member ethnic nations or people to opt out of the union via a referendum.

Nnamdi Kanu said: “Our referendum will be based on ethnicity, every clan will vote one by one. No ethnicity will be forced. If at the end Igbos vote to be in Nigeria and Igala vote to be Biafra, I’ll pack my bag to Igala.”
