The Special Adviser to the President on Social Media, Mrs Lauretta Onochie has said that President Muhammadu Buhari will not have anything to do with the new faction of Ohanaeze ndi Igbo, described them as agents sponsored to destabilize the peace of ndi Igbo and the country in general.
Onochie while having an interactive session with Journalist, disclose that the only recognized Ohanaeze ndi Igbo is the one being led by Chief Nnia Nwodo and that is the only socio cultural Igbo group that President Muhammadu Buhari will recognize.
According to her, “It has come to our notice that some group of men gathered and made themselves the new Ohanaeze ndi Igbo Council of Elders.
“It’s quite unfortunate that this new baseless group of men, which had some traditional rulers in their midst have allowed themselves to be used by some group of boys who ought to be their children to be using them to destroy Igbo land.
“Whosoever that is pushing them to destroy the peace in Igbo land and Nigeria in general should be ready to face the music when we are ready for him. Atimes, I wonder why an elderly person would allow himself to be deceived by children that ought to be taking advise from them. It’s very sad honestly.
“Anyway, if they like, they should form different groups bearing Ohanaeze ndi Igbo, that is their business. The only recognized Ohanaeze ndi Igbo is the one being led by Chief Nnia Nwodo who has been working peacefully with the President and that is the only group the President of the Country His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari recognizes.
“I would advise ndi Igbo generally to rise up and condemn this new faction of Ohanaeze ndi Igbo Socio cultural group aimed at destroying the peaceful mind of ndi Igbo and Nigerians at large. It’s obvious that this new group has a hidden agenda that are yet to unfold which made them create the group of which ndi Igbo are yet to know.
“The Eastern Governors Forum and the entire Igbo elites should also rise up to condemn this heinous and sacrilegious act before it brings problem to our country Nigeria” she said.
