As effort towards ameliorating the weight of inconveniences occasioned by the lockdown in Akwa Ibom, the state governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has concluded plans to donating food and other items to Akwa Ibom people.
The palliative from government which will include garri, rice etc will be distributed to the people based on their villages and not on political leanings.
A committee is to be set up to ensure equitable distribution to reach all those intended to benefit.
Recall that last week Thursday, the governor ordered a total lockdown in the state to help reduce the spread of Covid-19. As a caring leader, he had a perfect understanding of what some families will go through, hence this palliative measures to cushion the effect of the lockdown.
This act will go a long way to confirm that the governor has the interest of all Akwa Ibom people at heart.
