Sokoto State cleric, Sheikh Bello Yabo in a recent lecture, challenged the governor of Kaduna state that it is not a war against coronavirus but a religious conflict.
“How can you set aside a day to market twice a week but separate the day to the mosque?”
So far the Islamic teachers in Kaduna state have written a letter asking Kaduna State Government to let them pray on Friday even for 30 minutes.
The Kaduna State Government yesterday announced that there will be no sallah celebration in the state, insisting that all other prayer rites will not be held in the state.
“The government will not allow Friday prayers ”.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai described Saturday as the lockdown day in the state, stating that whoever violates the law, the law will play on him.
Many people, especially religious scholars, have been vocal in their condemnation of this radical act by the Kaduna state government, while some think the government is fighting against religious not the Coronavirus.
