Lockdown: Police disrupt wedding in Calabar

The Cross River State Covid-19 team entered a church at Mount Zion by Yellow Duke and scattered an on going wedding between Bassey Micheal and Rita Offiong. The pastor was arrested too.

According to the couples, it is not as if they’re not aware of the lockdown of churches in the state, but because of the law of their church that, if you are pregnant before marriage they can’t wed you in the church any longer and she was already 3 month pregnant, so they beg the pastor to help them bless their marriage before the pregnancy shows outside.

Though Cross River State has no record of the covid-19 case in the state but the governor of the State, Sir Ben Ayade is taking all measures and working intensively to maintain the zero case in the State.

They couldn’t let the wedding continue, they let the couples go with the church members but the pastor was arrested for further interrogation.
