Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai has finally come out to share his thoughts on the clamour for the sack of military service chiefs over the incessant security breakdown in some parts of the country.
The general disclosed in an interview that Nigerians should not put pressure on the President to sack the service chiefs
He said sacking the security chiefs would not solve the problem, and that the President knows what the issues are.
In his words;
“I am tempted not to comment on this issue as I am directly involved. However, I believe the President who is Commander-In-Chief is the right person to take the decisions. He should not be pushed or pressured in this regard”
“I am not saying this because I am the Chief of Staff and I do not want to leave. No, that is not the issue. It is beyond that because this is a national issue, an issue of national pride and national interest”
