No Corruption In NDDC - Asari Dokubo Reacts

Asari Dokubo, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, has downplayed the alleged mismanagement of N81 billion by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The National Assembly is currently investigating the alleged mismanagement of NN81 billion by the interim management committee (IMC) of NDDC.

Kemebradikumo Pondei, acting managing director of the NDDC had fainted while he was being grilled by the panel on Monday.

Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, also faced the panel, where he accused some members of the House of Representatives of getting 60% of NDDC contracts.

President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered a forensic audit of the commission’s activities from 2001 to 2019.

Commenting on the saga in a video, Asari Dokubo said the alleged corruption is like pickpocketing compared to other alleged stolen public funds in Nigeria.

The former militant leader said the case is like that of a man calling the police to report a pickpocketing case he witnessed while armed robbers are breaking into his house.

“We are talking about N81 billion being pick-pocketed from Niger Delta while the bulk of our money, our resources is being carted away and we are not talking,” Asari Dokubo said.

They want me to run after pickpocketers and leave armed robbers that are coming into my house. When they talk about Akpabio, tell them about Malami, when they talk about Joy, tell them about Sadiya, when they talk about any senator, tell them about Magu.”
