President Muhammadu Buhari should take appropriate actions to ensure that there’s a dialogue between him and IPOB
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by President General Engr Chidi be and Deputy President General Dimm Uche Okonkwo had launched investigations on the recent clashes between the Nigerian military and Indigenous people of Biafra members in orlu that led to losses of lives and properties which is uncalled for and avoidable if the dialogue was applied before military options.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo warns that normalcy should be restored immediately in orlu and environs as Ndigbo are peaceful people must not be provoked.
There is evidence of the destruction of properties worth billions of naira and we call for truce and settlements of those that lost their lives and properties in the clash.
Irrespective we believe in the advancement of Igbo genuine causes in Nigeria, we have the mandate of Igbos to engage Nigeria authorities on the grievances of Igbo youths, and it should be addressed especially the remote causes of Biafra agitation, as dialogue remains the global asset of settling disputes and we urge President Muhammadu Buhari to take appropriate actions to ensure that there’s a dialogue between him and IPOB, as what’s good for the goose is also for the grander.
Kalu Mkpa Uduma Media Adviser to Secretary-General, said, Governor Uzodinma should be wary of the verdict of history, whatever decisions taken today in the causes of protecting lives and properties should not involve military operations in civil disobedience or self-determination.
Ndigbo will hold Governor Uzodinma accountable and responsible for any life lost in Imo state under any circumstances.
